Businesses today don’t joke with data. Big data is the reason why some businesses are making waves, while others are either struggling or folding up. This has created a need for specialists who can make sense of the raw data.
Because of this data use, many companies have sprung up offering analytic solutions and creating ideas and perceptions from unprocessed information. Some are really large companies who are always a step further in their services and bring value to the table.
Others are still budding but look really promising. We are not here to say who is who in the data analytics company; we are here to highlight some of the companies to watch out for in 2020-maybe because we believe they might spring pleasant surprises in the coming year.
Before that, let us note that these companies work with a team of data analysts – data engineers, data scientists, etc. the data analytics industry is in itself a huge employer and are willing to pay a chunky wage to experts with the right data analyst certification and qualification.
So whether you are in another career field and want to switch to the big data industry, a data analyst certification can be obtained by undergoing training or a series of data-related courses bordering on statistics, computer sciences, coding, machine learning, AI, etc.
Now back to the 10 data analytics firms to watch in 2020.
Originally, Alteryx was skilled at marrying maps and data before spreading its tentacles across the board (in data terms). Alteryx’s data analytics platform includes several specialized areas, including Server, Designer, and the recent ‘Connect and Promote.’
The company is relatively large, accommodating up to 800 workers and raking in around $310 million as revenue each year. Alteryx services include self-service data analytics and data source integration.
Oracle is one of the leading software companies in the world. Their database solutions are sought after around the globe.
Oracle is based in California and has a staff strength of around 137,000. Last year, the company’s revenue was said to be around $40 billion. On their data analytics offerings, Oracle provides ML Integration for automated prediction.
Oracle’s software is incorporated with its cloud platform, which also includes collaboration and visualization properties.
Employing over 2000 workers and raking in a staggering $487 million every year, MicroStrategy is a data analytics company that thrives on providing solutions for business mobility.
Its model of business mobility is to help spread data analytics and findings throughout large companies. With an analytics book that is compatible with and secure on iOS and Android devices, MicroStrategy ensures that extra protection is run with the preset security authentication of these devices.
Because of MicroStrategy’s credibility, companies such as Adidas and Coca-Cola make use of their analytics.
It might have been seen as just another school project back in the NCSU (North Carolina State University), but that was what expanded to become one of the pioneering companies of analytics today – SAS!
SAS uses software (SAS – Statistical Analysis System), which has been updated continuously into a platform of its own and is capable of outputs like data mining/extraction, data forecasting, and data optimization.
Famous high-end customers who make use of SAS include the Royal Bank of Scotland and the Japanese automobile giant Honda.
Since the ’50s, IBM has been offering business technology and solutions. The hardware/software giant is located in New York, and last year, their staff strength was a staggering 350,000, raking in $80billion of revenue annually.
The IBM Cognos, which is the firm’s data analytics platform, was bought from business development and intelligence agency in Canada called Cognos. Since the purchase in 2008, IBM has capitalized on the platform to incorporate data analytics tools like AI integration, source aggregation, etc.
Qlik currently has its headquarters in Pennsylvania; however, the company has Swedish origins. Its analytics software, QlikView doesn’t need a query-based data model to function. It highlights the relationship between a data point and the source independently.

In 2019 alone, Microsoft has reportedly made more than $125billion! The company is worth around $1trillion!
The tech giants hardly need any introduction. Their business data analytics software is vast, but Power BI is focused on the issue of business intelligence.
It is cloud-based and has capabilities, including data visualization, analytic speed, and collaboration. The Power BI works with the Microsoft Azure for analyzing data.

The company has 35,000 employees and made $13.28 billion in 2019.
Think enterprise software, think SAP. The German-based company was launched in 1972 by ex-IBM workers. Its ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software has been updated severally to incorporate newer technologies and provide solutions to businesses cutting across sales, marketing, human resources, finance, and operations. Its vastly used cloud software ensures that this company rakes in millions annually. In 2018, it made a staggering €24.70 billion from its 96,500 staff strength.
